Review
Battle Tanks is a funny and addictive battle game in 2D where you will have to eliminate your enemy with a complete arsenal of weapons. This is a multi player game, so you and your friends will be able to play against each other by LAN (Local Area Network) or by Internet. There are four modes to play with your friends: death match, team death match, capture the flag and cooperative.
There are three different vehicles to play. You just have to choose one, and the battle will start. There are thirteen different sceneries where the battles can take place. Players will have a wide arsenal, missiles, bombs, mines, etc.
One interesting feature is the possibility to split the screen game in two different areas, so two users can enjoy playing against each other in the same PC; and of course, they will be able to play on line against other opponents. But, if you are not able to play by LAN or by Internet, you will be able to do it against the computer.
But, what's new on Battle Tanks 0.8?
There are many changes on this version. For Mac and Linux users, the program has been updated. Now playing with your friends by LAN will be a better experience. With new colored connection dialogs, the program will work faster than before. Problems with UDP on BSD have been corrected.
Battle Tanks used to crash when playing on a machine without a sound card. This has also been fixed. Some non-destructible objects have been re-programmed, so they are not immortal any more. Many other minor and small bugs have been fixed.
To sum up, Battle Tanks is an addictive game specially when is played with other opponents by LAN or Internet. |
